I enjoy the spectacle of the event on /sp/. But without 4chan I wouldn't be watching most of the games I'm watching now. I'd probably watch team USA play.America is a big country. While I don't give a shit about soccer and most of my neighbors don't care, there are pockets of enthusiastic fans across the nation (Seattle for example). Will it be satisfying to win it all? Yes. Will I feel like my team has let me down if they don't make it far enough or beat the right teams? No. I'm just here for the banter...and spectacle.
