It seems like anonymity shows the worst of humans, and an identity even if fake keeps the community sane.Sure, we sometimes get some good discussions, but they're the exception, while other forums that have a pseudonym identity seem to have higher quality posts and threads, and users tend to be more willing to invest into the community, even the most notorious forums have higher quality posts than most anonymous chansGoing back to the original inspiration of modern anonymous BBSs, they were created and mainly targeted at the underground cultures (mainly for lolies and cp) and attracted the worst of the japanese. The same goes for moot's english version of 2chan: 4chan, brace for faggotry.But when we look at the other end of the horseshoe: reddit et al, it's just the reverse of 4chan and has everything wrong with it but reversed.Is there a better system of social software that doesn't end in a shithole? I have a e-gf I met on 4chan but she's disappeared recently and doesn't really talk to me right now because she's in the middle of a depressive episode. I worry that she's gotten the avoidant ick and is probably gonna ditch me forever. But yeah, asides from her I'm alone in the world. I do have my parents but they'd probably call me a fag and tell me to stfu if I expressed vulnerability.
