Now it's worse than Google Translate of 2014 in that it comes out in grammatically correct English and it's harder to spot errors whereas before you'd see the engrish and sentence construction and you'd know it needs to be adjusted. But at least you'd get roughly what the nouns and verbs are, for the most part.Japanese AND ENGLISH are living languages that change on a weekly basis with new words and phrases that gain and lose meaning. LLM programs can't actually keep up with that. Only a human has even a chance of correctly identifying memes and coming up with a translation that is accurate and makes sense (or at least they'll understand what they're doing when they swap a 2ch meme for a 4chan meme).
