original r9k was started in 2008 and im not sure why there wouldnt have been gay threads at that time, considering /y/ has been around since the start of 4chan. the only way to search original r9k archives is to download the 7zs at https://purl.stanford.edu/tf565pz4260 so unless you want to do that and prove me wrong im just gonna trust my memory on the subject.

they probably werent numbered though like you said. judging by the numbers is another way to estimate -- but the rate of new threads varies a lot over time and seasonally so its hard. but i know for a fact that i made some editions around the 1600s-1800s in 2021 at the latest since i moved after that year and i definitely made them before i moved. so judging by that, thats about 800 threads over 5 years, and if that rate stayed constant, then it would put #1 all the way back 10 yrs before that, 2011-12 or so. but i dont think thats accurate considering the rate of new threads has definitely slowed down along with the rest of the board...to some extent because of captchas getting harder but also because of people posting more on discords and less in the thread. and because a lot of young people thing elon musk will drone them for posting in the wrong place or something idk theyre very nervous and afraid. dont worry, when im president i will have him exiled from the pridelands and he will have to eat elephant bones or whatever.

iDOLM@STER on 4chan has a long history of triggering mentally ill shitposters.
The "Accelspammer" on /a/ came about specifically because he wanted to banish iM@S threads from the board, for example.
A certain shitposter from the LL general came here simply because they were denied an LL CD code from a contributor who also posted on /@/. They then became psychotically obsessed with branchwarring on /@/, rather unsuccessfully.
And now we've got this "salivating" retard who is throwing a perpetual hissyfit because Gakuen ended up being popular and the ML anime ended up performing well.
There are countless other examples over the years.

Man I was looking at r/vtuberdrama because it seemed like that godforsaken site is finally doing something besides mindlessly obsessing about Nijisanji and finally criticizing other corpos. But that place is still absolutely turgid with Phase shills. There's a post asking about Lumi and they all flood in like "stop asking questions about phase, who cares if phase has stupid opinions, looks like phase antis are invading again!!" Say what you will about Nijisanji but one huge positive I have noticed is that it has absolutely zero presence on reddit. Nijisanji is by far the least reddit of all corpos. And Phase is the most reddit. Random Phase memes get upvoted onto the front page of reddit all the time. They are so fucking reddit in Phase and yet they try and pretend they're the most 4chan corpo. Embarrassing. Nijisanji is the most 4chan corpo. End of discussion.
