I got my copy for Xmas that same year it released and I enjoyed it a lot because it was goofy as hell and satisfying to play. I didn't start browsing 4chan until like ~3+ years later and didn't start browsing /v/ until maybe a couple of years after that. The fact that the game was considered "/v/-core" was one of the things that made me latch onto this board and never let go.

So, yeah-- plenty of anons only know how to express proof of their love for the game by doing absurdly difficult shit like KMS runs, but I'll bet most people who played it liked it because it embodied the spirit of being an edgelord weeb back in the 2000s.

i don't buy that, by the very nature of this place 4chan is a marketplace of ideas. if allowed to run it's natural course it attracts some of the brightest minds this world has to offer and allows them to discuss in a truly meritocratic setting. de-escalating that is a lifeline for the princes of this world, but we're way past the point where the 100th monkey started thinking "hey, wasn't epstein jewish? didn't he also say he hates the non-jews? what was all that about?".
