It could just be me but I’ve noticed a recent trend in fantasy games where characters now use modern lingo and terminology, sentence structure or swear words like “fuck” or “shit.” I know I’m not the only one but I was under the impression that the point of fantasy was so it could distance itself from the conventions and stigmas that define our world, not mirror it.
