The cycle went like this

1. lol catz
2. doge
3. discord cats

Late lolcatz era 4chan started to hate them and associated with 9gag and other sites that "stole memes" from /b/.
They discovered doge and it became the new funny animal.
During doge times, the shiba inu and other "funny doggos" and "look at this pupper xD" morphed into peak reddit+tumblr memes though, so 4chan abandoned them again.

Now cats are cool again but their popularity is fading again until adult gen alpha will resurrect them once again.

2007, when Facebook took off in popularity and normies and women began to flood the internet en masse. Even then the internet was okay for a few years until corporations caught up and came online to monetize normie eyeballs in the early 2010s. The death knell was the double whammy mass arrival of both zoomers and non-whites in 2012/2013 at which point the internet became a giant retard machine.

Even if you look at oldposts/4chan "culture", the memes and imagery were wildly varied. Each board had mascots, Anons regularly updated memes, every year felt distinct. Drawfags flourished and boards were creating content that would sometimes go on to filter even into normie space, like SCPs. Nowadays it's sterile and soulless, Pepe and soijak have been the only mascot memes for 10+ years now, as the fun and intelligent and creative Anons have been drowned under a sea of zoomers and browns and troons.

I've been practicing piano a lot recently, so that's good, feels a bit more productive than the usual 4chan refreshing 24/7. But unfortunately my back starts feeling uncomfortable after an hour+ of playing. Probably incorrect posture or something, but I can't quite get rid of the issue.
Other than that I've also stopped learning basic C#. Don't know why, just kind of don't feel like it. I should really get back to it though. I'm a subhuman neet, so I feel like getting a skill and trying to make a game is my only option now.

It's a solid base with a lot of good simulation going on. I like the control system to counteract blobbing, pops are in, and the country values / privileges are a good idea. But it's still a Paradox game. It's still lacking in a lot of basic functionality and quality of life, some countries (Japan) are totally broken and they're constantly shuffling things around in regards to things like economy or population needs.
The basis is good, but the game definitely needs more work.
