This is a spinoff from >>>98731050 which I saved for a new thread because that one was pretty exclusively about Harry Potter itself, when I think there's more fun to be had by making up a new magic school thats a better fit for RPG playing. So what I have here to post are some seed ideas for a /tg/ original wizard school game, which hopefully some other people find interesting enough to want to add to and build on like the good old days. The core idea here is a wizard school thats set up in such a way that students get away with a lot of bullshit under the premise of 'learning experiences', and the teachers generally don't get involved outside of class unless you are doing something actually life threatening. Consequences and failure states exist, but those failure states are a wider range of options than simple 'dies' or 'is expelled', because those are campaign ending and we want our wizard kids to get up to no good without immediately getting a game over the first time something goes wrong. The focus of the system's mechanics, such as they are, should be laser tight on LEARNING magic, then using what you have learned cleverly to solve your problems, and with a larger focus on wizard family scheming with kids caught in the middle as an overplot driver.I'll vomit out the ideas I have so far in the following posts, and then stop and see if anyone else is interested in talking about it. If not, the thread drops off the board later today and no harm done.
