Why does reddit feel toxic but 4chan doesn't?

This is much more natural way of resolving conflicts and actually increases the quality of interactions instead of having some fat dude with mod badge step in and tell everyone how should they feel about someone. Also consider how everyone is anonymous and you have an environment where there is little potential for pent up frustration and anger which results in toxicity.

I'm usually a normal guy living my day to day but then I just get that flatlining feeling of panic throughout my chest and I'm essentially stuck watching myself burn everything to the ground. It happens every few years, but this time I just kept pushing the person harder and harder so they could block me and then my social circle just whiffed me for it.I don't think I can afford to have this happen again. Anyone have any advice? If I could just not blow everything as soon as I start getting the urge, it would help me tremendously going forward.
