I came away from his memoir having learned nothing at all. All I saw was a man who correctly identified all the real threats to liberalism but, like every liberal now, totally failing to identify any solutions or ways to navigate the chaotic world we're entering. Just solemn acknowledgements that there is indeed impending chaos but liberalism is still the best despite it, for some reason.
