An identity based on atheism is an identity based on negation. How healthy is this in the long.term? It reminds me of the identities in the Balkans were people are defined by what they aren't, and we all know how that went.
My identity isn't based on atheism. I don't wake up every morning affirming disbelief in god. I don't even think about religion or religious belief at all until it's brought up usually on 4chan. The fact that I am atheist is so unimportant that if I had to list 20 facts about myself I don't think it would make it in.
