That was a really interesting article, thanks Anon. I really like seeing writings like this, that describe something I've observed over and over again but could never put into words. Do you have any other articles like this?

Also, I'm curious about how the principles outlined in the article apply to imageboards, as there is a much lesser focus on identity here. And while imageboards can be pretty shitty at times, they've often been the place I could find unfiltered discussion that just wasn't available anywhere else. Even with the ephemeral nature of places like 4chan, quality information tends to be preserved in Generals and board culture. While definitely not 100% of the time, you could say that good ideas and content tend to persevere in imageboards despite the absence of identities.
