Why is this thread so hostile to helldivers 2 youtubers? I feel like most /vg/ threads have accepted that youtubers/streamers/ecelebs are an important part of discourse for any live service game nowadays. They:

-tend to be very high skill
-discover and popularize the meta
-influence large swaths of the playerbase
-have the ear of the developers and get to talk to them directly
-usually get preferential treatment

and yet this thread hates the entire helldivers 2 content creation scene with a burning passion. Even given the usual 4chan contrarianism, this is turned up to 11.

Reddit is the answer, yes I know it has a reputation here but bear with me..

Join a subreddit about something you enjoy where people only talk about that thing you enjoy, don't go anywhere else on reddit except related subreddits you find in searches, use old.reddit, use uBlock and bookmark the subreddit so skip the abominable front page.

Also I'm aware reddit needs to die, but when a popular alternative starts to grow, like Lemmy perhaps, you can act like a fifth column, link your newfound friends to it and help casuals bridge the gap to the alternative and help it die.

Anonymity makes 4chan a gem, but anonymity means we never really connect, it is ultimately not something you want to be a regular on for years and years. Neither are the people here the best sort of people, despite their edginess and creativity, most here have a malicious bent, they are here to troll and it is naive to assume otherwise even if someone is writing a little essay like this. I am not offended or shocked by any of it, I am too far gone for that, but it makes everything said and done here meaningless unless they impart some truth that society was hiding from you, which is difficult to discern amidst the schizo nonsense and once the truth is imparted it goes no further.

So you actually have to reach out to nice boring normies, if you share a passion and you don't talk about how transwomen aren't real women or minorities and statistics then it will go somewhere.
